ACCU-T™ Trilayer Tablets
Patented ACCU-T technologies are well suited for both single drug and combination drug therapies and are produced on a commercially available deep fill multilayer tablet press. ACCU-T technologies integrate an active drug (or combination of drugs) layer at each end of the tablet, separated by a drug-free break layer which can be scored or un-scored. Breaking the tablet within the drug-free layer allows the dose to be divided into precise half doses. As a result of the innovative designs, the ACCU-T tablets need not break accurately through the drug-free layer. Accu-Break Pharmaceuticals has developed three unique platforms incorporating the ACCU-T technologies:
ACCU-T™ (AIA) Tri-Layer Tablets
Patented tri-layer tablet with same drug or drug combination at either end of the tablet separated by a drug-free break layer allowing the initial dose to be divided into exact half doses.

ACCU-T™ (AIB) Tri-Layer Tablets
Patented tri-layer tablets are perfectly suited for combination therapies. Each end of the tablet contains a different medication. The tablet may be taken whole, or if medically indicated, the drugs can be separated simply by dividing the tablet through the drug-free break layer. This unique configuration allows the convenience of a traditional fixed-dose combination tablet but allows the flexibility of separate prescriptions.

ACCU-T™ CR Tri-Layer Tablets
The patent pending CR (controlled release) configuration applies controlled release technology to further enhance treatment options. The ACCU-T CR tablet contains controlled release medication at either end of the tablet separated by a drug-free break layer, allowing the CR dose to be divided into exact half doses without affecting the rate of drug release. The majority of conventional CR tablets are not suited for subdividing due to the increase of surface area and the subsequent change in release kinetics. ACCU-T technology provides a solution to this problem and introduces dose flexibility into CR dosage forms. Additionally, an IR (immediate release) component can be added to CR tablets to add even more treatment options and potential product capabilities.
