Azopharma Product Development Group Announces New Company Launches
to Complete Its Full Line of Product Development Services

Azopharma CEO Phil Meeks announced today the launch of two new companies to become part of the Azopharma Product Development Group of companies. The new additions are ApiCross Drug Delivery Technologies and AvivoClin Clinical Services. Mr. Meeks says, “With these two additions to our service line, Azopharma can now provide the full spectrum of solutions for product development in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries from discovery through Phase I/IIa clinical studies.”

Based in Hollywood, FL, ApiCross specializes in providing drug delivery technologies to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and has expertise with formulations for all major dosage forms. ApiCross’s technology platforms focus on bioavailability enhancement, customized drug release, taste masking and cytotoxic and highly potent compounds. Other services offered by ApiCross include proprietary platform technologies, life cycle management, proof-of-concept studies, in-license and out-license agreements and fee for service development.

Scheduled to launch in early 2008, AvivoClin Clinical Services is a state-of-the-art clinical pharmacology research unit designed to accommodate short and long term clinical studies. Working with local hospitals and organizations, AvivoClin will offer customized solutions for early Phase I and IIa clinical research needs. Phase I services include first-in-human safety and tolerance studies; drug/drug interaction studies; bioavailability/bioequivalence studies; PK profiling; and cardiac safety studies. Phase IIa services include inpatient/outpatient trials and proof-of-concept studies. Mr. Meeks adds, “AvivoClin provides the last piece of the product development puzzle allowing Azopharma to accelerate and optimize the development process for customers while saving time and money.”

ApiCross and AvivoClin join Cyanta Analytical Laboratories, IQsynthesis and AniClin Preclinical Services as well as Azopharma Contract Pharmaceutical Services who formed Azopharma’s group of companies earlier this year.
